Rock of Ages was written by Chris D’Arienzo and made its world premiere in Los Angeles at the Vanguard before moving off-Broadway in October 2008 where it had a successful run. Now it is hoping to “rock” the Great White Way with a cool vibe and familiar rock classics. Playing the role of Drew is Maroulis who is probably best known for his turn on season four of American Idol where he placed sixth in the competition. The story is that in 1987 on the Sunset Strip, a small town girl met a big city rocker and in LA’s most famous rock club, they fell in love to the greatest songs of the 80s. It’s Rock of Ages, an arena-rock love story told through the mind-blowing, face-melting hits of JOURNEY, NIGHT RANGER, STYX, REO SPEEDWAGON, PAT BENATAR, TWISTED SISTER, POISON, ASIA, WHITESNAKE and many more.
